My background
Hi, my name is Marcus, and I’m from Huntsville, AL. The spirit of community, creativity, and culture has always been a core part of who I am. I created The Open Mosaic to connect local creators and makers with the world. With every piece, I aim to share our stories, our passions, and our legacies in a marketplace that empowers and celebrates Black excellence.
My experience
My journey started on the courts at University of Alabama in Huntsville, where I learned the value of teamwork, discipline, and resilience. That drive carried me through a career in cybersecurity in the corporate world.
But the truth is, I’ve always felt a deeper calling.
My passion lives at the intersection of community, culture, and purpose. I created The Open Mosaic because I believe we’re not meant to start from zero every time. We deserve systems that support us, platforms that amplify us, and spaces that remind us we’re not crabs in a barrel. We are builders, collaborators, and change-makers.
